Football Recap: Colleyville Heritage Piles Up the Points Against the Colony + How To Watch

Colleyville Heritage won the last time they faced The Colony and things went their way on Friday too. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cougars 73-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Panthers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Cougars are ranked 249th).

Bodey Weaver went supernova, throwing for 224 yards and five TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushing for 74 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries. Connor Souphankhaisy also helped with two scores in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Colleyville Heritage was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 251 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

Colleyville Heritage didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Dax Hebeisen and Joesph Nisbet. Nisbet is also crushing it when it comes to total tackles: he's made at least seven every time he's taken the field this season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory made it two in a row for Colleyville Heritage and bumps their season record up to 2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.5 points over those games. As for The Colony, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.
