Los Alamitos added to the longest winning streak in Sunset this week by beating Damien, 27-13. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Griffins.
Marina lost to Capistrano Valley 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Daylan Harmeyer was a bright spot for the Vikings, as he threw for 123 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 15 yards in the loss.
Dashawn Gordon was the best wideout in the league this week as Los Alamitos topped the Spartans. Gordon racked up 8 receptions for 126 yards. Kendall Brownlow helped Los Alamitos' passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 81 yards.
5-foot-9 quarterback Harmeyer of Marina is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,082. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Gordon. The Los Alamitos star has 36 catches for 582 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Newport Harbor takes on John Barnes' team. At the moment, the Sailors are in fifth, while the Griffins are in first.
Edison led Sunset in scoring this week by notching 35 points on San Clemente. Christian Heffelman threw for 105 yards and 1 touchdown in the win.
