Baseball Recap: Cape Fear Christian Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Lee Christian last Tuesday, Cape Fear Christian Academy came back down to earth. The Eagles took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crossroads Christian Colts on Monday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Colts apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Tyson Stephens was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Cape Fear Christian Academy dropped their record down to 8-6 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Crossroads Christian, their record now sits at 7-3.

While Cape Fear Christian Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
