Basketball Recap: Islamic Foundation Comes Up Short

Islamic Foundation lost against Yorkville Christian back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Islamic Foundation Chargers took a blow against the Yorkville Christian Mustangs, falling 55-21. While losing is never fun, the Chargers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 485th, while the Mustangs are ranked 198th).

Payton Wallin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Yorkville Christian, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. Wallin's evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Gabriella Allen-Thompson was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Islamic Foundation now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Yorkville Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road.

Islamic Foundation wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 60-34 win against Aqsa on the 10th. As for Yorkville Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-26 victory against Christ the King on the 11th.
