Baseball Recap: Appling County Comes Up Short

Appling County and Morgan County squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Appling County had to settle for second. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Pirates were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

Appling County's loss dropped their record down to 20-14. As for Morgan County, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 30-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Appling County beat the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 later that day.
