Softball Recap: Northridge's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Northridge took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Viewmont, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Knights skirted past the Vikings 9-8. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Knights as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Kaydence Chournos, who fired off two home runs and four runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Braylynn McClellan was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Northridge lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Northridge's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Viewmont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-12.
