Preview: First Academy Eagles vs. Taylor Wildcats
First Academy is 9-1 against Taylor since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the First Academy Eagles will get right back to it and host the Taylor Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
First Academy waltzed into their match on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They snuck past Meadowbrook Academy with a 50-44 win.
Even though Taylor has not done well against Florida School for the Deaf & Blind recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Taylor blew past Florida School for the Deaf & Blind 57-31. The win was just what Taylor needed coming off of a 71-34 defeat in their prior matchup.
Taylor found their leader in underclassman James Thomas, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachery McKinnon, who scored ten points.
First Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. As for Taylor, their victory bumped their record up to 6-11.
First Academy strolled past Taylor in their previous meeting on January 11th by a score of 67-51. Does First Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Taylor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
