Soccer Recap: Redwood Comes Up Short

Redwood lost against Golden West back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Redwood Rangers fell just short of the Golden West Trailblazers by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 303rd, while the Trailblazers are ranked 85th).

Redwood's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 6-5-7. As for Golden West, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Redwood will square off against El Diamante at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Redwood's last four matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Golden West, they will challenge Monache at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
