Zephyrus Schuessler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 11 en route to 16 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Schuessler is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Donovan Miller was another key player, putting up 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Front Range Christian came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 50-44 W against the Eagles.
Front Range Christian's win came from a few key players Clear Creek will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Zach Woo, who went 6 of 10 from beyond the arc to rack up 28 points and six boards. Those 28 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Haedan Morton, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 15 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.
Front Range Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matches.
Clear Creek's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. As for Front Range Christian, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Clear Creek has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.6 boards per game. However, it's not like Front Range Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.1 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Clear Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Front Range Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 33-30. Will Clear Creek repeat their success, or does Front Range Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
