Softball Recap: Hatley Triumphs

Hatley's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Aberdeen Bulldogs. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.

McKarlee Tubbs looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Kenzi Fast was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Echols, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Hatley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in five consecutive matches.

Hatley's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Aberdeen, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hatley Tigers challenge Amory Panthers at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Aberdeen, they will face off against Hamilton at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
