Volleyball Recap: Las Lomas Takes a Loss

Las Lomas lost against Northgate back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights fell 3-1 to the Broncos. The Knights' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Northgate scored at least 19 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 24-26, 25-23.

Despite the loss, Las Lomas saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tate Thompson had 40 assists and nine digs. Thompson is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last 17 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zachary Wood, who had 11 digs.

Las Lomas' defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Northgate, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 32-3.

Looking ahead, Las Lomas will take on Acalanes at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights are facing the Dons at the right time seeing as the Dons are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Northgate, they will square off against College Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Broncos surely won't give up without a fight.
