Volleyball Recap: Bellmont Comes Up Short

Bellmont was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Zionsville Eagles. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

MaryKate Scheumann paced Bellmont's offense, picking up 12 kills. Scheumann got some help from Gracie Riggs and her ten assists.

Averie Leblanc had a dynamite game For Zionsville., getting 34 assists and four digs. Leblanc is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 17 every time she's taken the court this season.

Bellmont now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Zionsville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellmont will head out to challenge Heritage at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Zionsville, they will venture away from home to face off against Westfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
