Softball Recap: Frostproof Bulldogs vs. DeSoto County Bulldogs
Fans were treated to a battle of the Bulldogs on Thursday. Frostproof blew past DeSoto County 19-9. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Frostproof.
Jordan Brantley made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, she gave up only one walk, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in triples.

In other batting news, Caitlynn Martinez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, four RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Shalayjah Robey, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.
Frostproof always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .605. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as DeSoto County only posted an OBP of .452.
Frostproof's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs over those games. As for DeSoto County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frostproof will head out to take on Avon Park at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for DeSoto County, they will head out on the road to challenge Okeechobee at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
