After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Springport, Reading was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Barry County Christian Eagles. The Rangers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

The team relied heavily on Stephen Anderson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Peyton Green also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

The victory snapped Reading's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record. As for Barry County Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Reading will host Maple Valley at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barry County Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against St. Patrick at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Shamrocks will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
