Baseball Recap: Sexton Comes Up Short

Sexton had lost 15 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 0-17 to make it 16. They came up short against the Charlotte Orioles, falling 11-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Big Reds couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Charlotte, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

For Charlotte's part, they got a big performance out of Nolan Aapala, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Brayden Parshall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

As of now, neither Sexton nor Charlotte have any future games scheduled.
