Baseball Recap: Oak Ridge Comes Up Short

Oak Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the University Cougars, falling 16-1. If the Pioneers were looking for revenge after losing 17-1 to the Cougars when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Oak Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Santiago Velasquez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases. Velasquez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Oak Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for University, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Oak Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 17-7 defeat against Colonial on the 7th. As for University, they have also already played their next match, a 7-3 loss against Lake Buena Vista on the 7th.
