Volleyball Recap: Maple Valley Raiders vs. Hillsboro Burros
After flying high against Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah] two weeks ago, Maple Valley came back down to earth. The Maple Valley Raiders took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillsboro Burros on Thursday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Burros apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Maple Valley started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-28, 26-24, 25-23, 25-23.
Having lost for the first time this season, Maple Valley fell to 2-1. As for Hillsboro, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5-3 record this season.
Maple Valley will head out to face off against Oak Grove Lutheran at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillsboro, they will welcome Midway/Minto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
