Softball Game Preview: North Canyon Rattlers vs. Verrado Vipers

The North Canyon Rattlers will challenge the Verrado Vipers at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. North Canyon has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with nine straight defeats, while Verrado will come in with ten straight wins.

North Canyon fell victim to Canyon View and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 20-0 to the Jaguars.

Meanwhile, Verrado made easy work of Desert Edge on Friday and carried off a 19-2 victory. The Vipers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kylie Bates was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Aariah Solis was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Verrado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .763. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.

Verrado's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for North Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.
