Chiawana extended their winning streak to 17 games thanks to a huge performance from Malia Ruud. The Chiawana Riverhawks breezed by the Richland Bombers to the tune of 74-23 on Saturday thanks in part to Ruud, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Her afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Tijerina, who posted three points and three steals. That's the most steals she has posted since back in February of 2024.

Chiawana's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.7 points per game. As for Richland, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-11.

The future could be bright for both Chiawana and Richland: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. Chiawana will try to hand Pasco their fourth-straight loss when the two meet at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Similarly, Richland will look to extend Hanford's seven-game losing streak when the meet at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
