Blake Fortunato leads a balanced attack to beat Unadilla Valley

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Deposit-Hancock's strategy against the Unadilla Valley Storm on Wednesday. Deposit-Hancock walked away with a 52-39 win over Unadilla Valley. Given Deposit-Hancock's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Unadilla Valley is ranked 778th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Deposit-Hancock got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Blake Fortunato out in front who scored 23 points along with three steals. Fortunato is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Alejandro Gonzalez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with three steals.

Deposit-Hancock is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Unadilla Valley, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.

Deposit-Hancock will look to defend their home court on Friday against Greene at 7:15 p.m. As for Unadilla Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against Walton at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
