Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short in High-Profile Contest with Woodgrove

Jefferson is ranked highly in their home state and on Monday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Woodgrove. The Cougars fell 10-7 to the Wolverines. That makes it the first time this season the Cougars have let down their home crowd.

Brooke Allen was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Savannah Smith, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 13-3. As for Woodgrove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Jefferson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 8-6 win against Clarke County on the 29th. As for Woodgrove, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-1 victory against Broad Run on the 29th.
