Basketball Recap: NCSSM: Morganton Takes a Loss

NCSSM: Morganton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cherryville Ironmen. The Dragons lost against the Ironmen in their previous head to head back in February of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 58-16 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why NCSSM: Morganton lost, don't look at Amalia Bordoloi. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Vivian Lin, who put up nine points.

NCSSM: Morganton's loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NCSSM: Morganton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Dragons' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Cherryville, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against North Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
