Baseball Recap: Westmont Takes a Loss

Westmont played against Leland on Friday and lost via forfeit.

Roman Soto was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brayden Casillas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Westmont has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-14-1 record this season. As for Leland, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-12.

Westmont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 3-2 win against Scotts Valley on the 19th. As for Leland, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Santa Teresa on the 23rd.
