Basketball Recap: Spartanburg Day Takes a Loss

Spartanburg Day lost against Greenwood Christian back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartanburg Day Griffins took a 54-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenwood Christian Hawks. The Griffins have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Greenwood Christian to victory were Ty Kennedy and Isaiah Scott-Palacios. Kennedy dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 boards, while Scott-Palacios went 8 of 16 on his way to 23 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Scott-Palacios has scored at least a third of Greenwood Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leland Reed, who posted five points.

Spartanburg Day's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Greenwood Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season.

Spartanburg Day has already played their next contest, a 51-38 win against First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest on the 29th. As for Greenwood Christian, they will take on Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Spartanburg Christian Academy will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Greenwood Christian surely won't give up without a fight.
