Softball Game Preview: Loudonville Redbirds vs. Centerburg Trojans

The Loudonville Redbirds are taking a road trip to challenge the Centerburg Trojans at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Centerburg took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Loudonville, who comes in off a win.

Loudonville was handed a ten-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They had just enough and edged out Wooster 3-2. The victory was some much needed relief for the Redbirds as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Addison Wolford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Centerburg fell victim to Danville and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Devils. The Trojans have struggled against the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Centerburg's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Loudonville, their win bumped their record up to 4-6.

Loudonville came up short against Centerburg in their previous meeting back in April of 2022, falling 12-7. Can the Redbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
