Benton is a perfect 6-0 against Pinckneyville since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Rangers will host the Panthers at 4:30 p.m. Benton has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 27.

On Monday, Benton didn't have quite enough to beat Frankfort and fell 4-3.

Benton saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Robinson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. Another was Trey Severin, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Pinckneyville didn't have quite enough to beat Zeigler-Royalton on Saturday and fell 7-6. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Tornadoes recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

JJ Higgerson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Abel Clark was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Benton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Pinckneyville, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

Benton took their win against Pinckneyville in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Rangers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
