Baseball Game Preview: Menifee County Wildcats vs. Elliott County Lions

Menifee County is on a nine-game streak of home losses, and Elliott County a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Menifee County Wildcats will be playing at home against the Elliott County Lions at 6:00 p.m. Menifee County has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Menifee County couldn't beat Fairview on Tuesday even though they stacked six runs on them in the fifth inning. The Wildcats took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Menifee County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas K, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Elliott County's offense. They fell just short of Jenkins by a score of 1-0 last Saturday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Lions haven't been shut out since back in March.

Elliott County's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Menifee County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-20.

Menifee County skirted past Elliott County 7-5 in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
