Football Recap: Meyersdale Skates Past Glendale with Ease + How To Watch

The matchup between Meyersdale and Glendale on Friday hardly resembled the 14-13 effort from their previous meeting. The Red Raiders simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Vikings 44-16. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Red Raiders had established a 21-point advantage.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Caden Snyder and Spencer Whitfield. Snyder gained 76 total yards while Whitfield rushed for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Whitfield also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up 1.5 sacks and making five total tackles. Gavan Steinberg made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Meyersdale's run defense was locked in: Glendale could only muster 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Trey Bolyard for the heroic effort on defense: he. Meyersdale didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged six.

Meyersdale has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 40.5 points this season. As for Glendale, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Meyersdale and Glendale will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Red Raiders are set to take on their familiar foe North Star at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Glendale will face off against rival Juniata Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
