Basketball Game Preview: Altoona Mountain Lions vs. Carlisle Thundering Herd

The Altoona Mountain Lions will head out to square off against the Carlisle Thundering Herd at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Carlisle took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Altoona, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 12 losses in a row dating back to last season, Altoona turned things around against Central Dauphin East on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 66-65 photo finish over the Panthers. The Mountain Lions' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Carlisle was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 67-66 to Central Dauphin. The Thundering Herd have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Altoona's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-4. As for Carlisle, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Altoona took a serious blow against Carlisle in their previous matchup back in January, falling 65-37. Can Altoona avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
