Softball Recap: Guilford Comes Up Short

After flying high against Boylan Catholic on Thursday, Guilford came back down to earth. The Vikings came up short against the Belvidere North Blue Thunder on Friday, falling 9-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 on May 6th.

Amiyah Wyrick was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Guilford has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-20 record this season. As for Belvidere North, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 22-9 record this season.

Guilford will square off against Hononegah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Belvidere North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
