Softball Game Preview: Allen Park Jaguars vs. Churchill Chargers

The Allen Park Jaguars will take on the Churchill Chargers at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Allen Park comes in on five and Churchill on three.

Allen Park saw some tournament action on Friday. They walked away with a 9-6 win over Bloomfield Hills.

Allen Park let Lestat Guthrie and Kiley Carr run wild. Guthrie went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Carr went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Guthrie a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mya Brandenburg, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Churchill got themselves on the board against Dearborn on Wednesday, but Dearborn never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 17-0 victory. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Churchill's win bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Allen Park, their victory bumped their record up to 23-6.

Everything went Allen Park's way against Churchill in their previous matchup back in June of 2021, as Allen Park made off with a 15-0 win. Do the Jaguars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
