Softball Game Preview: Lapwai Wildcats vs. Potlatch Loggers

Lapwai is 1-9 against Potlatch since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Loggers at 4:30 p.m. Lapwai has given up an average of 36.5 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lapwai is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They lost 41-10 to Kendrick.

Meanwhile, Potlatch fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Genesee on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 8-7. The loss was the Loggers' first of the season.

Kylie Heitstuman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Elena Vowels was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Potlatch fell to 7-1. As for Lapwai, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Lapwai suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Potlatch when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
