Softball Recap: Olentangy Takes a Loss

Olentangy came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-4 to the Lancaster Golden Gales. The Braves haven't had much luck with the Golden Gales recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Olentangy's loss dropped their record down to 14-6. As for Lancaster, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Olentangy and Lancaster should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Braves will take on Dublin Coffman at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (28 vs. 143). Meanwhile, Lancaster (ranked 19th) will meet Reynoldsburg (ranked 597th) at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Golden Gales' favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home while the Raiders have been banged up by 11 consecutive losses on the road.
