Softball Recap: Franklin County Tech's Loss Ends Seven-Game Winning Streak at Home

After flying high against Whitinsville Christian on Monday, Franklin County Tech came back down to earth. The Eagles fell 6-3 to the West Boylston Lions on Wednesday.

Hannah Gilbert spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Franklin County Tech saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gianna DiSciullo, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Franklin County Tech's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-5. As for West Boylston, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 16-3.

Franklin County Tech does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Boylston, they will head out to challenge Greenfield at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 3.1, the Green Wave 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
