Softball Game Preview: Bryan Station Defenders vs. Scott County Cardinals

The Bryan Station Defenders will venture away from home to square off against the Scott County Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bryan Station will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Bryan Station is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kentucky's top teams: Frederick Douglass, who was ranked 18th at the time (Bryan Station was ranked 13th). The Defenders never let the Broncos get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Friday. That's two games straight that the Defenders have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Scott County didn't have quite enough to beat Bryan Station on Wednesday and fell 2-1. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Defenders: they've now lost four in a row.

Makiah Jackson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Bryan Station's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Scott County, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 19-5.

Bryan Station came out on top in a nail-biter against Scott County in their previous matchup on Wednesday, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Defenders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
