Softball Game Preview: Lakeland Hawks vs. Moscow Bears

Lakeland is 2-8 against Moscow since May of 2023 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Hawks will face off against the Bears at 3:00 p.m. Lakeland has given up an average of 12 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Lakeland is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Saturday. They lost 14-5 to Coeur d'Alene.

Lakeland saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby Helmholz, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Moscow came up short against Lewiston on Thursday, falling 23-5. The Bears have struggled against the Bengals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Gabby Fleishman made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Kaci Kiblen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Moscow's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Lakeland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-14.

Lakeland suffered a grim 26-10 defeat to Moscow when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
