Baseball Recap: Clinton Wins Going Away Against Senatobia

Clinton had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Senatobia on Saturday. The Clinton Arrows were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over the Senatobia Warriors.

Parker Burrow looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk).

On the hitting side, Stone Crain was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with one triple and one run. That run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Chad Bates, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Clinton's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Senatobia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Clinton will head out on the road to challenge Pearl at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clinton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Pearl's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Senatobia, they will welcome Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Independence is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
