After a string of five wins, Garnet Valley's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 64-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Jaguars came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 51st, while the Fightin' Tigers are ranked 415th).

Garnet Valley's defeat ended an 11-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3. As for Marple Newtown, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-4.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Garnet Valley Jaguars take on the Strath Haven Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Marple Newtown, they will challenge Ridley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marple Newtown is facing Ridley at the right time seeing as Ridley is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
