Flag Football Game Preview: Valley Christian Trojans vs. Madison Highland Prep Heat

The Valley Christian Trojans are taking a road trip to square off against the Madison Highland Prep Heat at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Madison Highland Prep likes a good challenge.

Valley Christian lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Arete Prep, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's contest. The Trojans simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat the CHARGERS 31-0. Fans of the Trojans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Abigail Trillo was nothing short of spectacular: she threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards and one score. Trillo is crushing it when it comes to passing touchdowns: she's passed for at least three every time she's taken the field this season.

Another reason for the win was Valley Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Charis Barrett and Kenzie Hackett, who racked up all four sacks between them.

Meanwhile, Madison Highland Prep fell victim to Benjamin Franklin and their airtight defense on Monday. They were outmatched by the Chargers and fell 35-0. While losing is never fun, the Heat can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona flag football rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Chargers are ranked 29th).

Madison Highland Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
