Basketball Recap: Holcomb Falls Short Against Ranked Lakin

On Tuesday, Holcomb faced Lakin in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Holcomb Longhorns took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakin Broncs. The matchup marked the Longhorns' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Holcomb's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Lakin, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Holcomb will head out to take on Ulysses on Friday. As for Lakin, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Elkhart at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
