While Woodruff's victory against Fountain Inn wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolverines narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Fury 2-1. Winning may never get old, but the Wolverines sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Woodruff had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-18, 25-22.

Woodruff was led to victory by Harrison Rhodes and Ruthie Sheffield. Rhodes had 13 digs and three aces, while Sheffield had 12 digs and six assists. Sheffield has been hot, having posted 12 or more digs the last six times she's played.

Woodruff's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Fountain Inn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Woodruff wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Crescent on the 2nd. As for Fountain Inn, they will be taking part in a tournament against First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest at 9:20 a.m. on Saturday.
