Softball Recap: KIPP San Jose Collegiate Takes a Loss

If KIPP San Jose Collegiate was riding high fresh off their 25-2 takedown of Luis Valdez Leadership Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolfpack came up short against the Design Tech Dragons on Friday, falling 14-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-3 back in March.

Samantha Ibanez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Dulcemaria Monroy, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

KIPP San Jose Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Design Tech, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. KIPP San Jose Collegiate is set to take on their familiar foe El Primero at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Design Tech will square off against rival Summit Shasta at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
