Softball Recap: Gervais Takes a Loss

Gervais extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping their season record down to 13-9-1 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Toledo Boomers. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 15-0 to the Boomers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Toledo, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 18-2. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games.

For Toledo's part, Avery Fourier was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Fourier has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Otis, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and one run.

Looking ahead, Gervais will welcome Culver at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Toledo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
