Middletown South was the 28-21 winner over Manalapan when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell 24-14 to the Braves on Friday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Middletown South's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Manalapan, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Looking ahead, Middletown South will be playing in front of their home fans against Red Bank Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The game will give the Eagles their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Manalapan, they will venture away from home to face off against Liberty at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
