Basketball Recap: Corvian Community Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Corvian Community challenged Ambassador Christian School on Thursday. The Cardinals were outmatched by the Lions and fell 82-48. The Cardinals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Corvian Community's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brycen Hinnant, who posted 14 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Maxwell Garvin, who put up four points and five rebounds.

Ambassador Christian School's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was RJ Moore Jr., who shot 67% from the field to rack up 19 points and three steals. With that strong performance, Moore Jr. is now averaging an impressive 15.4 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Jones-Franklin, who went 6-for-10 en route to 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Corvian Community's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ambassador Christian School, their record is now 2-3.

Corvian Community didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-41 defeat against West Cabarrus on the 28th. As for Ambassador Christian School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 71-59 loss against Oak Hill Academy on the 21st.
