Van Buren County proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 36) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 54-52 win over the Coalfield Yellow Jackets. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won four contests in a row.

Van Buren County's win bumped their record up to 25-6. As for Coalfield, with the loss, they broke their 18-game winning streak and moved their record to 32-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Van Buren County beat Coalfield by a score of 54-52 on Friday.
