Basketball Recap: Father McGivney Catholic Takes a Loss

Father McGivney Catholic saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 46-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Litchfield Purple Panthers.

Despite the loss, Father McGivney Catholic still got an impressive performance from Chase Jansen, who posted 22 points and eight boards. That's the most points Jansen has posted since back in November of 2024. David Carroll was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Father McGivney Catholic now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Litchfield, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Father McGivney Catholic has already played their next game (against Valmeyer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Litchfield will face off against Calvary at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calvary is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.4 points per game this season.
