It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Lincoln County had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand Hawkinsville a 56-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Lincoln County, who have now won ten games by 25 points or more so far this season.

Kelby Glaze produced another solid performance rushing for 104 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Mekhi Wade was another key player, rushing for 54 yards and one TD.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lincoln County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 392 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 247 rushing yards in seven consecutive contests.

Lincoln County's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 5.0 points on average over those games. As for Hawkinsville, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

Looking ahead, Lincoln County will challenge Brooks County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Red Devils 6.6, the Trojans 14.3) so any points scored will be well earned. Hawkinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
