Lawrence County snaps three-game streak of losses at home

Recap: Lawrence County Red Devils vs. Brewer Patriots

The Lawrence County Red Devils's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They strolled past Brewer with points to spare, taking the game 47-32. This was payback for Lawrence County, who suffered a 47-44 loss the last time these two teams met.

Lawrence County had a senior duo take command as Kylie Graham dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds and Jaala Hawkins scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Despite the loss, Brewer still got an impressive performance from Lilly Grace Yancey, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Hale, who scored four points along with two steals.

Lawrence County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-15. As for Brewer, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence County will take on Mae Jemison at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lawrence County is facing Mae Jemison at the right time seeing as Mae Jemison is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Brewer, they will head out on the road to challenge West Point on Saturday. Brewer will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alabama Rankings (they are ranked 228th, while West Point is ranked 25th).
