Softball Recap: Mayfield Comes Up Short

Mayfield fell victim to Riverside and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They lost 10-0 to the Beavers. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Mayfield got a good showing from Emma Arth, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Furthermore, Arth didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

Mayfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Riverside, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mayfield will venture away from home to challenge South at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Riverside, they will head out to square off against Louisville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
